Greetings Everyone and Happy Summer!

It’s hard to believe calving season is already over and now we are focusing on getting next years calf crop made. Well, facilitating it anyway, Time for the bulls to shine!

We have had sufficient moisture in our part of Ohio. So much so that it was difficult getting that first cutting of hay made on time. Luckily it’s done! We buy all of our hay from a local farmer so now begins the fun of hauling it all. That means lots of time behind the wheel! I like to use that time to listen to podcasts or audio books. If you haven't listened to the Bison Insider podcast produced by the Minnesota Bison Association you should add it to your list. I’m also listening to Holistic Management audio book, I’ve been trying to read it for years but my eyeballs seemed to always betray me and slam closed after a couple of pages. Funny how sleeping on the book doesn't work by osmosis. I think I read that first chapter 5 times. The audiobook is a much better option I’m only 3 hours away from being done with the 16+ hour book.

The EBA will be attending Ag Progress Days in August to help spread the word about bison and our great organization. If you would like to volunteer to man the booth for a day or few hours let us know!

Agritourism is a blossoming industry and they are a shining example, I can’t wait to learn more. The registration is available on-line.
