This premier event for bison enthusiasts and professionals provides valuable networking opportunities, informative presentations, and updates on the latest advancements in Eastern Bison conservation and management.

Eastern Bison Association Celebrates Success at 2024 Winter Conference

The Eastern Bison Association's 2024 Winter Conference was a resounding success, bringing together bison enthusiasts and professionals for a weekend of learning, networking, and celebrating the Eastern Bison.

The informative program featured industry leaders like Lydia Whitman from the National Bison Association who provided an industry update. Kevin Swope of Heritage Lane Farm shared practical knowledge on "Winter Management: Surviving the Season with Your Pastures Intact." Dr. Ivette Ruiz's presentation on "Avoiding Burnout and Managing Stress" offered valuable insights for bison producers. The conference also covered critical bison health topics with presentations on "Elevating Your Farm's Mineral Program" by Dr. Katie VanValin, "Pinkeye and Points to Ponder" by Dr. Dan Kniffen, and Stacy Nofziger's discussion of her "Mineral Study Opportunity." Additionally, Liz Riffle shared her expertise on "Value Adding with Bison Products," encouraging diversification and innovation in the industry.

Beyond the educational sessions, the conference fostered a strong sense of community through a lively banquet, presentation of awards, a fun auction, and the culmination of the event – the Eastern Bison Show and Sale.
